2. Kiama #Fishing- Do this yourself or hire a Charter to take you out to the big ones! You won't be disappointed plus you get to take home some beautiful south coast fresh fish. There is nothing like eating fresh fish caught on the same day. It just does not taste any better.
Fishing yourself can be done from the rocks, beach or even Harbour. Squid can also be caught off the harbour here or in Shellharbour at night with a squid lure. If you want a more secluded beach head south to #7 mile beach and chose your perfect spot. If you don't catch anything, you can always pop up to the #Gerroa Boat Fishermans club on the headland which specialises in local #Sea food.

3. #Coastal walks- All along the coast at Kiama are local coastal walks which feature spectacular scenary overlooking out beautiful ocean rocks and surf. These are a fantastic relaxing way to spend a morning, afternoon or even day. There are maps at the local #Kiama Visitors Centre. If you want long one head to #Gerringongs #Werri beach from Kiama Heights which can be done there and back in a day(around 3 hours each way). Head along the beach at #Werri to grab some fish and chips or relax in the local #Gerringong Bowling club.
The #Minnamurra and #Kiama Blow hole walks are also great headland walks with far reaching views. The #Minnamurra headland walk is a great place to have a quiet swim at the river entrance. There are also BBQ's and tennis courts here.

4. #Minnamurra Rainforest National Park- A hidden gem just 10 minutes west of Kiama near #Jamberoo. Amazing boardwalks take you to the top of the mountain following the river as it meanders down from the Highlands. There is a small cost involved but it is well worth it. There are also Picnic areas here. This walk will show Kiama as it once was- a lush rainforest filled with Red Cedar trees, Strangling figs amongst idyllic streams and creeks. Press on the button below for more info.
5. #Tennis in Kiama- Grab a racquet or borrow a racquet at Onestoptenniscoaching in #Kiama at 41 Flinders Ave Kiama Downs. Play yourselves or grab a lesson at [email protected] or by calling Michael on 0413996516. There is also Kiama Tennis Club which has many of the social days or nights throughout each week. #Kiama Tennis Club boasts 7 of the best courts in the area so your're sure to get a game most days. There are mixed social days on Wednesdays, Friday nights and Sunday afternoons. There is also womans Social tennis on Monday mornings. The largest turnout is the Sunday afternoon social which runs from 2ish until dark. Head down for as long as you wish to play! See the following link for more information or talk to me here at PBC as tennis is a favoured sport. Note: There are also other decent courts at Kiama Downs, Minnamurra, Jamberoo and Gerringong.
Don't have a hitting partner or want a lesson or both then email [email protected] or call 0413996516

6. #Golf in Kiama and Surrounds- Golfers in this area are absolutely spoilt for choice when it comes to #golf. Any of the courses around Kiama, Jamberoo, Gerringong, Shellharbour or further afield to Dapto(The Grange) and Port Kembla are top class courses with varying challenges. If you want a flat, easy to walk, shorter but challenging country course then head out to #Jamberoo with the cows wandering the courses boundaries. If you prefer a longer tree lined course which probably drains the best in any weather then head to #Kiama Golf Course. Head off to the fully licenced club afterwards for dinner or drinks on the deck! If your a #Links golf course lover then head to Shell Cove Golf course with its undulating greens and hills. Would recommend a buggy for those not wanting a long hilly walk! Another beautiful coastal golf course is the #Gerringong Golf course course which although run by volunteers is a sight to behold. One hole has you hitting across a private beach guaranteed to result in a bunker shot if you go short, although this bunker may have some extra challenges! Further afield is the picturesque Calderwood golf course or #The Grange which are also great challenges and professionally maintained. Talk to me here at PBC for more info.
Prices are all very reasonable with Twilight golf always available. Prices vary from just $15+ at #Gerringong. #Entertainment book owners may also find some great vouchers for #The Links Shell Cove.

7. Kiama township itself- is a great walk checking out the latest shops or markets(on some Sundays). Pop into the old fire station to see a new art or displays on a weekly basis. Do the history walk taking in the older buildings here such as the post office and council chambers. Walk up to the #Kiama Blowhole and see whats happening. There is also another blowhole which although smaller is worth a quick drive or long walk near the Little Blowhole shops. The Cafes there are well known and frequented by locals in the know.
8. Hit the #beach Fishing, Surfing or walking- I know this it obvious, but even if the waters too cold in the winter its so nice and relaxing just walking along the beach. I'd recommend Bombo beach just south of Kiama where you can even walk around the rocks to Kiama central(tides permitting). If you want a longer beach walk head to #7 Mile beach at Gerroa just 10 minutes down the coast. Water temperatures are best from December through to May.
If you want great surf then just check out the direction of the swell and hit the right spots. Favourites with locals are '#The bone yard' on the bike track on the way to #Kiama Downs, #Bombo Northern end,#Werri Beach South end, #Mystics near# Killalea or the thick thundering waves of Kiama's Surf Beach. Kid friendly surf is best at Easts Beach Kiama, Surf Beach(when small) or 7 Mile beach Gerroa..Shellharbour south and North beach as well as #Kilalea are also great for families.

9. #Snorkeling and Diving- Great anywhere along this coast but 'The bone yard near Cathedral rocks is a local favourite as is Bass Point in #Shellharbour. Over the Back of Kiama Harbour is also a nice spot to start. Also worth a swim/ snorkel is #Minnamurra river, especially at low tide with all of the Sandbars to explore and launch from. Want a more professional effort then hit the Diving and Fishing charters in Kiama Harbour.
10. #Bike Riding- Kiama is a hilly but obviously beautiful place to cycle. I'd recommend the track around Black beach for kids and that small outing, but if you head over the hill you can ride all the way to Kiama Downs along cycle tracks taking in #Bombo Headland and beach, #Cathedral rocks and #Boneyard and Jones Beach. If you leave the track and take the mostly quiet back streets you can even ride to #Minnamurra and beyond to Dunmore which has a nice track through the natural swamp lands. Another superbly scenic ride can be ex[erienced if you keep riding to #Shellharbour where you can then carry on to beautiful #Barrack Point and the sweeping cycleways of #Lake Illawarra.
For those wanting extrem biking I'd recommend riding the coastal track to Gerringong and back or heading up the hills to #Buderoo Fire Trail via #Jamberoo Mountain Road. Coming back down this winding narrow road is a huge speed rush with little traffic. Buderoo fire trail also has a little know waterfall called #Gerringong Falls which is a quick ride or 45 minute walk for those on foot. Gerringong Falls is one of my favourite and secluded waterfalls. Check out Kiama Cycles and sports latest #Electric bikes to nullify the #bighills of this area. These new bikes are amazing on hills!
See #Kiama Cycles and sports for even more ideas or information. They are located on the right as you come into Kiama opposite the Terrace houses. FOR THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE THEIR BIKES WITH THEM HEAD TO KIAMA CYCLES OPPOSITE THE FAMOUS 'TERRACE HOUSES' AND HIRE ONE! Details below
